Frankie’s Italian Kitchen & Bar offers authentic Italian cuisine and has a relaxing environment whether it is at the bar or in the dining room. It is located at the Georgian Court Hotel in Downtown Vancouver. Portions of food are great and service was wonderful. Great place for a family or friends get together with some great food!

Saw these Wicked Sticks were new on the KFC menu so decided to try them out! This was the Wicked Sticks Snack box. The Wicked Stick is basically spicy chicken on a stick. It’s pretty good, but the picture on the menu looked way better. A great snack, but not totally worth your money.

Suika is a izakaya Japanese snackbar on West Broadway. Similar ambiance to Guu, but I felt it was less crowded, so definitely another option if you love Guu. Friendly servers, great food, great drinks and a lively atmosphere!

Decided to try the McRib sandwich from McDonald’s on break one day at work. I guess I had higher hopes for it, so it wasn’t as great as I thought it would be. The sandwich is actually quite small, and the ribs don’t really taste exactly like ribs. It’s McDonalds though, so I guess I can’t expect much.

Tiramisu

La Cuisson is a coffee shop located in Richmond. It offers a variety of cold and hot drinks and is famous for their freshly roasted coffee. As you step in the restaurant, the aroma of coffee will surround you and the small coffee shop has an antique feeling to it. Wooden tables and decor gives the shop a unique feeling. They also offer a variety of snacks, like sandwiches and waffles, as well as desserts, including an assortment of daily homemade cakes.

Chocolate Obsession

White Chocolate Raspberry Mousse

I love desserts so my friend brought me to Sweet Obsession on West 16th. It offers a variety of different cakes to choose from, including cheese cakes, chocolate ganache and tiramisu, as well as classic confections like dulce de leche, St. Honore and dacquoise cakes. You can buy them by slice, as well as by the whole cake.  There are also drinks and other petite desserts. There are a few seats to dine in, and they also offer take out. Really delicious cakes and looked quite busy! If you’re a dessert lover, then you must check this place out!

Butter Chicken

Sanafir offers a menu of exotic flavours showcasing North African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Indian. The Mezze Platter was really filling, but you have to order at least two portions. I came in thinking it was more of an Indian restaurant, but the flavours are very interesting and clearly showcases a fusion experience. The dining environment is also very interesting! The restaurant is basically open so flies coming in was a little frustrating. However, when you go upstairs, they have beds and also low couches that you can choose to dine on. Apparently you need to make reservations before hand for those special seatings though. Now that I think about it, it probably would be quite hard to eat on a bed, or at least I would make a mess. Great service and food! Check it out if you want to try something exotic!

Went to Red Robin on Robson and ordered a Macaroni and Cheese with Caesar Salad and Cheese Toast on the side. Typical Red Robin food and service. Cheesy and delicious!

Foundation is a vegetarian restaurant on Main St. It is probably one of the most hipster restaurants I have ever been to. And it’s not just the people working there. People eating there are also very hipster with a unique style of their own, but I guess most of the people strolling around the streets of Main are like that. Most tables were ordering the huge platter of nachos and there seemed to be a rave about how good they were, so we ordered it too. We only ordered the regular size and it was already huge! Really cheesy with beans and the side sauces make it even better! Definitely a must try! Servings are also quite large and I’m not even a big fan of veggies, but I definitely enjoyed my vegetarian meal here! If you want to enjoy a different dining experience - perhaps a hipster one, this is the place to go!

White Romance Cheesecake

Yavis Club is located in Richmond, and offers a variety of cheesecakes and drinks and opens till late night. Their cheesecakes are either New York Style, so baked, like the White Romance, which is really an original flavoured cheesecake, or it is Glacier style. Glacier cheesecakes are basically ice cream mixed in the cheesecake. It gives a icy feeling, almost like an ice cream cake. A great place to get some cheesecake late at night!

High Tea

Creamy Earl Grey - Bergamot and Vanilla

Ever wondered what it would be like to relive the childhood tea parties but as an adult? Well you can do so at Secret Garden located in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood! With pretty decor and cute little chinaware, Secret Garden offers a variety of tea time snacks and of course tea! My friends and I went for high tea, and by making a reservation beforehand, you have a preset variety of dainty sandwiches, scones, cakes, and desserts ready for you. The portions are split up for the number of people having high tea and is quite filling even though they are dainty! High Tea is around $27 a person. I also chose a Creamy Earl Grey and mixed with milk and sugar, it tasted wonderful! Now call your girlfriends up and have some tea time fun!
