RCMP Ramen

G-Men is back! Few months ago, I got to the old location and thought that it had closed down permanently but luckily it has reopened on the busy street of food - Alexandra Rd. Now I can satisfy my cravings once again. I have to admit that parking is terrible around that area but I guess it’s worth it for some delicious ramen! Still in a quite small store but the decor seems nicer and their menu has changed drastically. They have much more variety with a lot of different appetizers as well. I decided try the Tan Tan Men which has a thicker soup base. It was actually a little spicy too! Definitely great ramen and I have yet to try some of their appetizers too!

Mushroom & Swiss Supreme Chicken Sandwich

I’ve been wanting to try the McDonald’s new Supreme Chicken Sandwiches for a while, and finally decided to get it! They have three flavours: Mushroom & Swiss, Tangy Thai and BLT. You can also choose from grilled chicken or crispy chicken. I went for the Mushroom & Swiss with crispy chicken and surprisingly with a fast food restaurant, it was overloaded with mushrooms. The bun is also quite different from their burgers. It seemed like a better quality type of bun, but it still seems quite pricey for a small sandwich at McDonald’s. Delicious nonetheless!

Bali Gado Salad Bowl

Stumbled across Fresh Bowl today in Yaletown and it really reminded me of The Naam. A small store with friendly service, offering dishes influenced from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. Their main dishes were “bowls” which consisted of either noodles, rice, or just salad. These bowls were then topped with different types of ingredients but a lot of veggies! For sure a healthy place to grab some food. They also offer snacks like roti, and satay skewers and also tapioca desserts. A great place to go to if you want some healthy food in Yaletown!

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

Miso Ramen

Always hearing fabulous stories about Santouka for their delicious ramen, so finally decided to check it out. This place is always packed! Line ups, but totally worth it. The soup base is delicious and is said to be one of the best authentic ramen restaurants in Vancouver. Kintaro is my other favourite. Prices are on the higher end for ramen compared to other restaurants, but quality is what it’s famous for! So definitely worth it!

Deep Fried Pop Chicken

Sunway Restaurant is located in Empire Centre, the mall next to Parker Place in Richmond. They are famous for their Taiwanese Beef Noodles and their Deep Fried Popcorn Chicken, so of course I had to try them. The beef noodles are great, but what really caught my attention were the popcorn chicken. I’ve tried a variety of popcorn chicken, like the ones at Pearl Castle and Well Tea, but these tasted very different. They had a unique outer crispy layer that was very different from the others I have tried. It felt less oily, and the crispy layer wasn’t too thick. Prices were also very reasonable with large portions. These popcorn chicken are a must try!

McCafe

I don’t know if we have this in Canada, but when I saw it in the States, I decided to try it! It’s the McDonald’s McCafe Strawberry Lemonade. It looks really pretty, but I found it a little too tart for my taste. Really refreshing on a hot day though. Probably not something I want to drink right now though! It’s freezing here!!

California Club - Applewood smoked bacon, chicken and Mozzarella hearth-baked then topped with tomatoes, avocado and chilled lettuce tossed in mayonnaise

Trip to Seattle means having some good food again! Went to California Pizza Kitchen at Northgate Mall. It’s a place great for the family, similar to The Cheesecake Factory, with decent service. Big portions for the price as well! The California Club Pizza tasted basically like a Caesar Salad, so you don’t really need to order another salad on the side. I have to say, it’s quite a healthy choice for a pizza. The Fried Mac and Cheese was not the best though. I felt like it wasn’t very fresh, as it was kind of hard. It almost seemed as though it was made ahead of time and heated back up. Overall, the food is pretty good and worth a try!
